BAC water (Bacteriostatic Water) is commonly used as a diluent to reconstitute peptides after they arrive in a lyophilized (freeze-dried) powder form. Its primary purpose is to dissolve the peptide into a usable liquid solution while helping maintain stability. BAC water contains a small amount of benzyl alcohol, which inhibits bacterial growth, allowing the reconstituted peptide to be stored for a longer period than if plain sterile water were used.
